I'm looking for a broke (but not necesarily finished) Mountain horse Mare. Preferably 5yrs or older with some trail experience. This
isn't for me but is for a close friend. She needs the typical mountain horse temprament and will need a horse that can carry a reasonable sized adult (like
me). Color isn't particularly important, conformation and temperament is. Would prefer not to drive more than 5-6 hrs to see (We are in Western Mo) but
would come to Ky looking. (would love a Rainmaker mare if there are any out there reasonable
)(do you have any left Jim?).

Dockeb, I don't have anything that fits your needs. I have a coming 3 yo not yet started that I plan to sell and a coming 2 yo that I will probably
keep, neither can be registered with RMHA, both are registered KMSHA. At the moment, I can't think of a mare by Rainmaker that is for sale. Prize was by
Rainmaker and an outstanding mare but she sold to a lady in FL a few months ago. Rainmaker has produced few fillys, mostly colts. Just thought of a
possibility. Scooter, doesn't Roy have a filly, about 4 yo, by Rainmaker? I know that he had one a year ago. I will look into that for you Dockeb. Jim

KMSHA registration more than adequate for any horses in my mind (I don't have any RMHA horses myself). These don't have to be Rainmaker foals (I just
know that he puts great foals on the ground). I have a couple of other contacts in Ky (from when we lived there). Any help would be appreciated. She (my friend
is our Director of Nursing and my new hospital) would like to ultimately breed to my stallion later (she's met him and likes him) and he'll be KMSHA as
soon as I get him certified (shouldn't be a problem as his gait is near perfect
 and he's out of a KMSHA foundation mare and RMHA/KMSHA stallion).

Ky Gal is 4 yo this year, April I think. She is by Just Kentucky and out of my gray mare, Strokin. I have ridden Ky Gal many hours in the ring and on several
trail rides. She is an excellent trail horse for an intermediate or better rider. She loves to lead the parade and you have to show her who's the boss
and she rides anywhere. Excellent gait, 15.0H, pretty red chocolate. Never has done anything silly. Jim

Doc,
I know of someone who lives about 60 miles north of Tulsa that has an 11 year old RM Palomino mare (unregistered) for sale for $2K. Says she is a good trail horse. Currently pregnant to foal this Spring. Not sure if she would fit your friend's needs but thought I would mention her. |
